Bradford County
Starke CALL STREET HISTORIC DISTRICT 1857-1931, 41 buildings of historical significance in a 10-block area. Predominant style is Masonry Vernacular 1- and 2-story detached commercial buildings. The district reflects the physical development of the town between 1859 and 1931. N.R. 1985.
Starke OLD BRADFORD COUNTY COURTHOUSE 209 W. Call St. 1902. Romanesque Revival. 2 stories, tall central tower with elaborate roof details. The building was built following a bitter contest between Starke and Lake Butler for the county seat. In 1898 Starke decided to build a courthouse. In 1921 the county was divided, and Lake Butler became the county seat of the new Union County. Public. N.R. 1974.
